When I was younger, my idea of style consisted of wearing the same shades of color from head to toe. I can literally remember being 12 years old and looking in the mirror in the school bathroom, checking myself out in my monochromatic ensemble.
I was draped in different shades of red, oh and in different fabrics too.
So there I was fixing my rose hued velvet, satin and corduroy outfit just thinking that I was “it”.
Then walks in one of my friends to pop my bubble. She looks at me confused asking, “What are you wearing?!”
You know in that tone. That super judge-y one.
I yapped back, “It’s monochromatic, okay!”
My style has evolved from then. You won’t catch me in corduroy anything nowadays but one thing that hasn’t changed is my love for a great monochromatic look.
Taking notes from my younger self, I mix fabrics and shades to create dynamic look with depth.
I shopped this blushing look from Old Navy’s latest and was pleasantly surprised to find these metallic pants that totally work IRL. They’re not super shiny at all so they can be worn to the office and then straight to the office party.
My choice of color for this monochromatic look was a subtle and demure blush because it’s one of my favorite colors plus it’s flattering on practically every skin tone.
If you don’t believe me you just have to try it for yourself! I jazzed things up with a glitter clutch from Old Navy as well and sequined shoes from my own collection.

A go to for great stylish flats is Nordstrom and Target. They are at the end of price spectrum but I alway find something there.
